Reopen the South Florida Beaches to Florida Residents

Reopen the South Florida Beaches to Florida Residents
The Issue
The Spring Breakers are gone. It's time to reopen the local beaches to Florida residents. Even the Police agree that making them sit by the beach all day arresting/ticketing residents who walk on the beach is a waste of their time and taxpayer's money.
Going for a walk on the beach is actually one of the safest things you can do. Science is showing that the coronavirus thrives in cooler dryer weather but doesn't do well in hot, humid, sunny environments like a South Florida Beach.
"Qasim Bukhari and Yusuf Jameel, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, analyzed global cases of the disease caused by the virus, COVID-19, and found that 90% of the infections occurred in areas that are between 37.4 and 62.6 degrees Fahrenheit (3 to 17 degrees Celsius) and with an absolute humidity of 4 to 9 grams per cubic meter (g/m3).
In countries with an average temperature greater than 64.4 F (18 C) and an absolute humidity greater than 9 g/m3, the number of COVID-19 cases is less than 6% of the global cases. "
And with schools being closed it's important that kids and their parents can get outside and enjoy the fresh air, sunshine (Vitamin D), and get some exercise. Being stuck indoors all day is not healthy.
In the rare chance a group of college kids show up to party then send the police to break that up. But don't punish responsible Florida residents who simply want to go for a walk on the beach or a swim in the water.
Closing the beaches is unfair to Florida residents who help pay for them, it's a waste of the cop's time, a waste of taxpayer's money, and is bad for our health.
Please sign the petition so you and your family can enjoy a day at the beautiful South Florida beach without being arrested and ticketed.
