Brooklyn DA's office...Arrest Dr. Mark Stricklin and Rontae Witherspoon for Assault

The Issue

On 7/29, Brooklyn, NY residents Zondra Peters and Alfred Kelly exited their home with their Jack Russell puppy, when Dr. Mark Stricklin (Asst. Principal of New York's LaGuardia High School aka Fame School) and Ronate Witherspoon of Norwich, CT assaulted Zondra and Alfred.

Stricklin, Witherspoon, and another adult female were congregating on the steps above Zondra and Alfred's home with 6 children and 2 dogs. Rontae, who has several prior arrests, including assault and DWI, randomly attacked Zondra by strangling her and beating her head into a parked car. Zondra then fell and hit her head on the sidewalk, resulting in several head injuries. Alfred, who is Zondra's longtime boyfriend interjected himself in the assault by attempting to detain Rontae, when he was attacked from behind by Dr. Mark Stricklin. Rontae then began throwing bricks attempting to strike Zondra in the head, which Brandon deflected resulting in breaking his hand.
Zondra was able to run inside and secure her puppy, while calling 911. The NYPD's 88th precinct arrived and Dr. Stricklin informed his neighbors to tell the police that they were attacked, instead of the other way around. The police made the RASH decision to arrest the victims (Zondra and Alfred), even though the victims called for help. Zondra was transported via ambulance to Brooklyn Hospital where head injuries, contusions, and an assault was confirmed via CT Scan by hospital officials. Alfred's fractured hand was placed in a cast and may require future surgery.
After being wrongly accused and jailed, Zondra and Alfred petitioned Sgt. Pierre Hipolite of NYPD's 88th precinct to arrest Stricklin and Witherspoon. While several officers agreed with the victims, Sgt. Hipolite refused to investigate, photograph injuries, or question Stricklin and Witherspoon which is not police protocol. Zondra and Alfred returned the next day with their attorney, again petitioning Sgt. Hipolite to arrest Mark Stricklin and Rontae Witherspoon for felony assault, to which he again refused.

The NYPD is protecting Dr. Stricklin (a Board of Education employee) and Rontae Stricklin (a career criminal at age 23.)

Since the assault on 7/29, Dr. Stricklin and his boyfriend William Witherspoon (Rontae's father) have continued to harass Zondra...resulting in at least one NYPD harassment complaint against Mark Stricklin for throwing items at Zondra. Also, Zondra is considered permanently disabled by New York State due to debilitating Fibromyalgia, a chronic pain disease. These circumstances have greatly exacerbated her symptoms and placed a great hardship on this couple.
Please help us ask the Brooklyn Kings County District Attorney's office to file felony charges against Dr. Mark Stricklin and Rontae Witherspoon, in order to correct NYPD's botched police work. Thank you for your support!
