Dear Neighbours,

I am writing again regarding the ongoing sewage odour coming from the water treatment plant near our homes. This has been affecting our community for years — limiting our ability to open windows, enjoy our yards, host gatherings, and fully use the outdoor space we invested in.

As of today, only 7 residents have emailed a letter to the Ministry.

Seven.

In a neighbourhood of this size, that number does not reflect the true impact this issue is having on our community. Agencies respond to documented volume. If only seven complaints are filed, it appears as though the problem is minimal — even though many of us know it is not.

I cannot do this alone.

If you have experienced the smell — even occasionally — your voice matters. A short email describing how often you notice it and how it affects you and your family is all that is required. It does not need to be long or complicated. It simply needs to be sent.

This is about:

Our quality of life
Our ability to enjoy our homes
Protecting our property values
Holding the responsible parties accountable

The issue will not be taken seriously unless more of us formally document our experiences.

Please consider taking five minutes this week to send your letter. If you need guidance on what to write, I am happy to help.

We are stronger as a community when we stand together.

Thank you to the seven residents who have already taken action. We truly need more support.

Sincerely,

Diana
