***Just wanted to add a note that while a WVU Mountaineer Marching Band photo was used for this petition, this is a petition for ALL COLLEGIATE MARCHING BANDS!***
Every year thousands of college marching band members put in countless hours learning halftime field shows for college football games.  Most, actually learn a new show for each home football game.  With the time and effort that is put into performing these shows, they should be broadcast the same as any televised football game. I believe that broadcasting the marching bands would only help boost the number of television viewers as family and friends of marching band members would tune in to see the show.

Most networks have game commentary during the halftime period.  These shows, by and large, review what you just watched in the first half and speculate on what is likely to happen in the second half.  This time could be used to show the world the talent in collegiate marching bands and hopefully inspire future generations of marching band members.  It’s time the arts stop being overlooked and get the recognition they deserve.

I am starting this petition in hopes of gaining nationwide support to present to the NCAA as proof that America loves marching bands and would prefer to watch a halftime show to listening to commentary and watching highlights of the game during halftime.  It is my hope that the NCAA will begin to require all televised football games to include broadcasting of marching band field shows.

Your support of this petition would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you!
