Save Beautiful Bristol Landmark "Turbo Island" from Renovation
The Issue
Bristol is a city famous for landmarks and architecture: the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Cabot Tower and the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, to name a few. None of these compare to the paradise named Turbo Island.
Turbo Island is the jewel in Bristol's architectural and infrastructural crown. What other place could survive so many impromptu bonfires and variations of street art, from grimey bath tubs to questionable conspiracy theory graffiti?
Recently "the man" has cordoned off the area and appears to be renovating it.
This is totally not vibing with the free spirit of Bristol's community. We need to tell them to back off our sacred lands and leave it be. It's a place where the community must not be disturbed, as the barren holy triangle holds together the Stokes Croft community like glue. Students, hipsters, hippies and homeless converge here in an accurate reflection of society.
Paving this historic landmark is a bulldozing form of gentrification, leading to cultural homogeneity where we all have to wear grey and the only accepted music is Coldplay. To sully this for the sake of banker wankers from Bath with double barreled surnames would be a disservice to Bristol as a whole.
Let your voice known that we need to Make Bristol Shit Again.
