Stop The Proposed Euthanasia of Fish in Bristol's St George's Park
The Issue
The proposal to cull fish in the pond of Bristol's St George's park, is not only unnecessarily cruel, but will also affect the local birds, such as herons who regularly visit the site. It is stated that some fish are sick and that there are too many fish: by all means humanely destroy sick creatures, and I'm sure Bristol has enough freshwater to accommodate other, healthy fish if need be; organising a 'pond clean' especially at the farthest end of the pool, would surely also add to the health of the ecosystem in the park. This park is a delightful haven in a very built-up part of Bristol. The whole spectrum of wildlife should be welcomed
