PETITION
BRING BACK DEMOCRACY AT Caerphilly County Borough Council 

This Petition has been drawn up by Cllr Kevin Etheridge & Cllr George Edwards.
 
We the undersigned residents of Caerphilly County Borough Council call on the Administration to abandon their proposals which were passed at Full Council.

1. Reduction of scrutiny committees from 5 down to 3.
2. Change of procedures to reduce questions and motions at Full Council.
3. Introduction of a protocol which restricts elected Councillors operating in other wards without consent.

We believe these constitutional changes which were passed on Thursday May 11th, 2023, will have a detrimental effect and stifle democracy within the County Borough.
