My name is Kyleigh Roelofs and I am a member of the Johnston County 4H in North Carolina. I am in a club called the Happy Hoppers where we learn about rabbits, their breed standards, their care, and showing. My friends and I show rabbits at 4H and ARBA shows, and would like to bring a youth rabbit show to the North Carolina State Fair.

The North Carolina State Fair used to have a rabbit show but this stopped several years ago. When I spoke to the Commissioner of Agriculture, he stated that the two weeks of the fair was very hard on the rabbits and caused a lot of stress for the animals.

I am proposing a single day youth show at the 2025 North Carolina State Fair. This will allow for youth to show and reduce the stress on the rabbits.
