The Issue

Let’s give women’s softball the stage it deserves — in the heart of where the sport was born and where it can thrive for generations to come.

We, the undersigned, urge the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Organizing Committee, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) to host the Women’s Softball Games of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Southern California.

While Oklahoma has become synonymous with NCAA softball excellence, Southern California offers a better and more inclusive opportunity to grow the sport at all levels — from grassroots to international competition.

Here’s Why SoCal Is the Better Choice:

 • 🔹 Softball Capital: SoCal has produced countless Olympians, NCAA champions, and hosts elite youth tournaments year-round.

 • 🔹 Maximum Visibility: LA is a global media hub, perfect for inspiring girls and fans worldwide.

 • 🔹 World-Class Infrastructure: International airports, major stadiums, and Olympic-ready transit and hospitality.

 • 🔹 Diverse Access: Greater inclusion for Latina, Black, Asian-American, and underserved communities.

 • 🔹 Youth Development: A hotbed for youth teams, offering thousands of girls direct Olympic exposure.

 • 🔹 Legacy Investment: Build long-term growth through training facilities and global events post-2028.

🚫 Why Not Oklahoma (Respectfully):

Oklahoma’s impact on college softball is clear, but the Olympics must go beyond regional traditionsto build a global, inclusive future for the sport. Limiting this moment to one region misses the broader opportunity to grow softball worldwide.
