In early 2024 subway replaced their “artisan” flatbread with “lavash” flatbread which, in a word, sucks. The big draw is that it’s much thinner so you’re not eating as many carbs, I guess. The downside of this is mainly that you can’t toast it as it turns into a hard cracker in the toaster oven. However even when it’s not toasted it’s still so thin that it tends to tear if you have a big sandwich. On top of that it has hardly any taste and a disappointing mouth feel. It feels like I’m eating matzah bread which is a Jewish food known for being bland, tasteless and unleavened. I am starting this petition to bring back the old flat bread so we can have toasty sandos that don’t fall apart in your hands!
