Hello supporters!
First, we at Heritage Gun Club want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support we have received and all those volunteering on our behalf to make HGC a reality. It has been a humbling honor to see every signature on this petition and we thank you for your continued support and vote of confidence in bringing this state-of-the-art sporting facility to life!
On Tuesday May 16th, we were informed that our public hearing for the conditional land use is postponed pending additional engineering reports to support our application. Although the engineers are already on site producing these reports, the county has insisted we move the hearing date due to the amount of opposition we are facing as a result of a misleading campaign being spread on social media by a vocal, minority of ill-informed, anti-gun individuals. Our legal team has advised us that while most conditional land use applications provide barely a tenth of the information we have provided, we will nevertheless provide the most detailed and comprehensive information possible to ensure our application is the strongest it can be.
Unfortunately, this was never going to be a clean process. But the additional time will allow us to continue building support and educating the community about sporting clays and our project. Several neighbors and some of the most vocal opponents have already consulted with us and changed their position but it is nevertheless a process and no matter how much effort we exert, some individuals will remain unmoved. Therefore it is absolutely imperative, now more than ever, that we continue sharing this petition and educating our friends and neighbors about the project to continue driving up our support in advance of the next hearing date!
