The Issue

Southwest Airlines was once a favorite choice for many budget travelers flying in and out of Newark Airport (EWR), providing reliable service at an affordable price. However, in 2019, Southwest made the decision to move its operations to LaGuardia Airport, leaving many of us, who cherished the convenience and cost-effectiveness of flying with Southwest from Newark, longing for their return.

Being a budget airline, Southwest offered a great travel option that catered perfectly to cost-conscious travelers. The relocation from Newark has impacted many passengers who relied on their competitive rates and excellent service. The change has also limited options for those in the surrounding area, forcing travelers to endure the longer commute, and heavier traffic associated with traveling to LaGuardia.

For those who reside in New Jersey and other nearby areas, Newark Airport serves as one of the primary gateways to the world. Reintroducing Southwest Airlines to Newark doesn't just mean more travel options; it means accessibility and convenience for thousands of potential passengers. It would also allow Southwest to expand its offerings to more customers who have grown fond of their distinctive service.

A return to EWR would be an opportunity for Southwest Airlines to reconnect with its loyal customers in the New Jersey area. Additionally, it presents a chance to introduce their favorable fare options to new passengers who have yet to experience their acclaimed hospitality.

I'm calling on Southwest Airlines to evaluate the demand and logistics of returning to Newark. The potential traffic and customer satisfaction surely seem worthwhile. Sign this petition if you agree that having Southwest back at Newark would benefit travelers and the community alike.
