PC and Xbox players currently have access to a wealth of beloved Sonic games that are unavailable on modern Playstation and Nintendo Switch consoles. Classics like these below are no longer able to play:

• Sonic Unleashed
• Sonic Adventure
• Sonic Adventure 2
• Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 & 2
• Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed
• Sonic Lost World (PC and Wii U only)
• The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog (PC only)

While unique console architecture made backwards compatibility for PlayStation and Nintendo limited, ports of the PC/Xbox versions can now more easily be made for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 4&5.

There is a large group of Sonic fans—as well as higher sales of Sonic games on Nintendo and PlayStation consoles than Xbox. Bringing these games over could bring a small profit to Sega, but more importantly be another step in preserving the legacy of the blue blur now in his historic 35th anniversary.
