Petition to Gauge Community Interest

As a first-generation South Asian American, first-generation college student, and member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have faced numerous challenges throughout my small business journey in Macon, GA. My name is Prachi Patel, and I am the proud owner of Prachi Henna Art, LLC., a unique artisan handmade art, decor, and gift boutique that celebrates diversity and promotes local small businesses and artists. I'm so grateful to my loyal customers and friends I have met throughout my college career and through creating this business.

Prachi Henna Art, LLC., started here in Macon in November of 2021, so it only makes sense that my first store be here as well. Having been a Macon resident for the past 5 years and a frequent visitor years prior, I am well aware our city is known for its rich musical history and vibrant culture; however, there is still much progress to be made when it comes to embracing diversity. As an artist who takes pride in their heritage while also advocating for inclusivity within the LGBTQ+ community, I believe that downtown Macon can greatly benefit from the presence of Prachi Henna Art.

Prachi Henna Art offers more than just beautiful handcrafted products; it represents an opportunity for our community to come together in celebration of different cultures, identities, and talents. I intend to put my Mercer degree in commerce to use by establishing our boutique as an event space where local small businesses and artists can showcase their work alongside mine. Together we can create a thriving hub of creativity and economic growth right here in our beloved downtown Macon.

As Prachi Henna Art LLC, I’m aiming to secure a retail space downtown. I need a show of support and interest from the Macon community that I hope to serve and be a part of to have a chance at doing so. Therefore, I am requesting that those who believe a business like mine would benefit the Macon community sign this to support my efforts at establishing myself in a storefront.
