**PETITION TO THE UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION (UNO) AND THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT (ICC)**
**FOR THE IMMEDIATE RELEASE AND SAFE RETURN OF FORMER PHILIPPINE PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE**

**We, the undersigned Filipino citizens and supporters of justice and human rights, urgently call upon the United Nations Organization (UNO) and the International Criminal Court (ICC) to immediately release and facilitate the safe return of former Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to his homeland, the Philippines.**

It is deeply alarming that former President Duterte has been subjected to what we believe is **illegal detention**, in clear violation of his fundamental human rights and due process of law. The very institutions that claim to uphold justice and human rights—the ICC and the UNO—have themselves failed to adhere to these principles in his case.

The ICC was established to prosecute serious crimes while ensuring fairness, impartiality, and adherence to legal procedures. However, in detaining former President Duterte without proper due process, the ICC has overstepped its jurisdiction and undermined the very values it purports to defend. Likewise, the UNO, which has a fundamental duty to protect human rights worldwide, has remained silent in the face of this injustice.

We, therefore, **demand the following**:

1. **The immediate release of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte from detention.**
2. **His safe and swift return to the Philippines.**
3. **A full, transparent explanation from the ICC and UNO regarding their actions against him.**
4. **An assurance that due process and human rights standards will be upheld for all individuals, including former heads of state.**

If the ICC and UNO claim to be champions of justice, **they must not allow themselves to become instruments of political persecution.** By unlawfully detaining former President Duterte, they have contradicted their mission to promote fairness and human dignity. We urge them to rectify this grave injustice immediately.
