The children's playpark of Newstead Village, situated right next to the local primary school, is over 23 years old. It has now become outdated, unsuitable, and increasingly hazardous. Sadly, it has become a regular occurrence for the young people of the village to fall victim to the park, heading home with injuries.  With no other play facilities nearby, and a high proportion of the park users reliant on unreliable public transport,  there are no other options for them.   

Due to the park being rundown and neglected, it has inevitably become a site for litter, and antisocial behaviour.   

Now, Newstead Parish Council, along with a number of the residents of the village, believe the time for a new park for young people of the village to play, learn and be happy, is well and truly overdue! That's why we are looking to secure crucial funding to be able to make this happen. In order to get a step further along on this journey, we need to prove how much we want and need this. We need to gather as many names as we can to this petition, minimum 500, for us to work towards providing a new, safe, accessible and enjoyable place for future generations to prosper.
