While the Big Ten and ACC have embraced lacrosse as a varsity sport, the SEC continues to lag behind, offering no NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse programs. Yet the region is rich with players, programs, and passion.

It’s time to bring men’s lacrosse to the SEC.

Here’s why:

Explosive regional growth: Georgia, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, and the Carolinas have become national hotbeds for high school lacrosse.
Established club success: Programs like Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, LSU, and Alabama consistently perform at high levels in the MCLA, proving there’s a strong foundation in place.
Recruiting opportunity: SEC schools already attract top athletes—lacrosse would expand their reach and help retain top-tier talent from the South.
Fan base + market potential: SEC fans are some of the most passionate in sports. Adding a spring spectator sport like lacrosse would increase engagement, alumni interest, and donor support.
