Bring Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray!
The Issue
Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (released in the United States and Canada as Nanny McPhee Returns) is a 2010 period fantasy comedy film directed by Susanna White, produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Lindsay Doran with music by James Newton Howard and co-produced by StudioCanal, Relativity Media, Working Title Films and Three Strange Angels. It is a sequel to the 2005 film Nanny McPhee. It was adapted by Emma Thompson from Christianna Brand's Nurse Matilda books.
Thompson reprises her role as Nanny McPhee, and the film also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ralph Fiennes, Rhys Ifans, Ewan McGregor, Asa Butterfield and Maggie Smith.
The film was theatrically released in Easter 2010 in the UK and 20 August 2010 in The USA by Universal Pictures.
The film had a large number of footage/deleted scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor; unfortunately, only a fraction of it has been released to the public.
A small selection of the scenes did not even appear on the home video releases of the film. List of lost or deleted scenes.
Extended Dialogue Between Isabel and Phil in Prologue (also in script) Extended flashback about The Story of Rory and Isabel Green (Unconfirmed)
Vincent Singing in the Barn
Norman Laughing at Vincent
Norman Starting up the Tractor before being confronted by Phil. Extended Dialogue Between The Greens and The Grays in the Bedroom. Shots of Celia Gray in the Mud.
a Close up of the Car.
I still feel like there needs to be a director's cut to this movie. Which would have each of the following.
- The Original 2010 Theatrical Cut.
- - The Extended Version of the Theatrical Cut (Containing all the deleted scenes, with just the opening and ending being replaced with the ones that were originally going to be in the movie.) although this has never been proven as anything more than speculation.
Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang had some deleted scenes. Some of them went lost when the final cut was made, and some going lost before the final cut.
