Bring Mustang Adoptions back to Ohio!!!

The Issue

As many are aware, our BLM mustangs are being harmed by loss of access to private care with qualified adopters in the Northeastern States Region.

The satellite adoption events are limited, now Ewing, the only BLM mustang facility in the Northeastern States is closing.

There was ONE adoption center privately run by Southington Mustang Academy in NE Ohio. The center was closed when the BLM and Mustang Heritage Foundation ended their partnership.

After waiting over 18 months to finally reopen, Southington Mustang Academy was awarded an adoption center through Forever Branded, the new BLM partner. While SMA planned to offer over 100 BLM mustangs for adoption in 2025, these plans were cut short after a few dishonest people went on a manipulative witchunt to destroy SMA, while simultaneously attempting to secure their own adoption center in Ohio.

Since these people falsely manipulated the truth, SMA has been put on hold pending BLM investigation. These individuals also brought a civil suit against Jenna Nelson of SMA which she WON. In fact, the judge ruled there was no evidence to support their claims of any wrongdoing.

Here's the problem, the BLM investigation has sat for nearly 6 months unresolved. This keeps SMA on hold and unable to move forward with helping to get mustangs adopted into private care.

Jenna Nelson of SMA has been an advocate for BLM mustangs since 2008. She has a long history of successfully training mustangs and getting them into good homes. Just in the past several years since SMA opened, Jenna has helped to facilitate around 400 BLM adoptions into private care.

Over a dozen individuals who have known and worked with Jenna for years have stepped forward and submitted statements on her behalf to BLM. Now is the time to speak up and unite our voices to bring Mustangs back to SMA.

We support BLM and the Wild Horse and Burro Program. This petition is to tell BLM we want to see Southington Mustang Academy back open to facilitate Mustang adoptions. The support to see this happen has been widespread across the country. This is a way for us to SHOW staff at BLM how much we want to see Mustangs back in Southington.

We want to see BLM mustangs available to qualified adopters who will give these horses a bright future. So if you agree then please sign this petition...

May God Bless the Mustang 🙏
