Living in Killeen, Harker Heights, Copperas Cove, and Fort Cavazos, we face a significant inconvenience due to the lack of airlines servicing Killeen–Fort Cavazos Regional Airport (GRK). Currently, GRK has only one airline, offering service that often proves to be unreliable. This has forced thousands of local residents to travel to Austin or Waco just to catch a flight, leading to increased time and financial costs.

Our community deserves reliable and competitive air travel options that are not solely dependent on the operations at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). In the past, soldiers and civilians alike could fly directly from GRK to larger hubs like Austin and San Antonio, connecting conveniently to national and international destinations. Our airport once supported a variety of airlines, allowing for greater choice and flexibility for travelers.

Restoring additional airlines at GRK is not just a matter of convenience; it is essential for the economic and social welfare of our area. With Fort Cavazos being a significant military base, there is consistent and substantial demand for air travel that adequately services both the military personnel and the civilian population.
