Bring mandatory ADHD & SEND Awareness Into UK Schools

Bring mandatory ADHD & SEND Awareness Into UK Schools
The Issue
Too many children with ADHD and other SEND needs are misunderstood in school. Many are labelled “disruptive” or “difficult” when they simply learn and process the world differently. This can lead to exclusion, poor mental health and children believing they are the problem.
At the same time, the UK is facing a national SEND crisis, with councils reporting a £6 billion deficit in SEND funding and families waiting years for assessments and support.
The You, Me & ADHD campaign delivers honest, lived-experience talks in schools to help young people, teachers and families better understand ADHD and neurodiversity.
These talks are currently self-funded and delivered voluntarily, meaning many SEND families and schools cannot access them.
We call on the Government to support initiatives such as You, Me & ADHD, enabling schools across the UK to access free ADHD and SEND awareness talks, particularly during ADHD Awareness Month each October.
Sign and share this petition if you believe neurodivergent children deserve understanding, not punishment, in education.
By signing this petition, you are advocating for meaningful change in the education system. Help us bring vital ADHD and neurodiversity awareness talks into UK schools and ensure every child is given the opportunity to succeed. Please sign and share this petition to show your support for this essential cause.
