Mayberry Days in Mount Airy, North Carolina is a celebration of timeless television, cherished memories, and the stars who helped shape classic American entertainment.

We are respectfully asking the organizers of Mayberry Days to invite Kathy Garver to attend this year’s festival.

Kathy Garver is best known as Cissy Davis on the beloved television series Family Affair, a show that remains a staple of classic TV history. But her connection to Mayberry runs deeper.

She served as the narrator for Betty Lynn’s memoir, Becoming Thelma Lou, honoring the life and legacy of the actress who portrayed Thelma Lou on The Andy Griffith Show. Through that work, Kathy helped preserve and celebrate the heart of Mayberry.

Many of her fellow classic television friends attend Mayberry Days regularly. Kathy is a respected actress, author, and speaker who would be a wonderful addition to the event — meeting fans, signing books, and celebrating the golden era of television.

She recently appeared on a North Carolina-based podcast, where we discussed how meaningful it would be for her to attend Mayberry Days and connect with fans who cherish the same legacy.

We believe her presence would:

• Honor Betty Lynn’s memory

• Celebrate classic television history

• Draw additional fans and media attention

• Strengthen the spirit of fellowship that makes Mayberry Days so special
