With the imminent closure of Joann stores on the Peninsula, crafters and hobbyists of all kinds are left with very few options to obtain their supplies.

In order to reach a Hobby Lobby, Peninsula residents have to travel a minimum of 30 miles to Chesapeake or Virginia Beach, through the HRBT or MMBT, or go North to the Richmond area, which is even further away. 

There are almost half a million people in the cities and counties that make up the Virginia Peninsula. With so many vacant commercial buildings and area properties zoned for commercial development, Hobby Lobby could find a home here that will be lucrative for the company and generate great tax revenue for their chosen locality on the Peninsula.  Having a local Hobby Lobby will be beneficial to decorators and crafters, saving us money, time and frustration.

If you agree that a Hobby Lobby on the Peninsula would be a wonderful choice for home décor, craft supplies, fabric, yarn and more, please help me get our localities to take this into serious consideration by signing this petition. We also want Hobby Lobby to know that we are here, we are many, and we would like them to look at a our area for expansion.
