Bring Her Home: Let a 10-Year-Old U.S. Citizen Continue Cancer Care

Bring Her Home: Let a 10-Year-Old U.S. Citizen Continue Cancer Care
The Issue
A 10-year-old girl recovering from brain cancer is being denied critical care after her family was deported. This young U.S. citizen, along with her four American siblings, was forced out of Texas on their way to an emergency health appointment when their undocumented parents were detained and deported. Now, her life is at risk because she can’t access her doctors in Houston.
The family had made the trip to Houston many times before, always passing through checkpoints with letters from doctors and lawyers. This time, those letters weren't enough. Immigration officers arrested the parents and ignored the mother’s desperate pleas.
The family was separated in detention, and the sick 10-year-old was forced to lay on a cold floor under bright lights before being expelled to Mexico. Her brain swelling continues to cause pain, speech struggles, and mobility issues. Her brother, who has a life-threatening heart condition, is also unable to get needed care.
The authorities have put this family's lives in danger. Forcing U.S. citizen children away from medical care and into unsafe conditions is inhumane. These parents have no criminal history, yet their children are being denied the protection they deserve.
We call on the Department of Homeland Security to allow this family to return to the United States under humanitarian parole so their children can access life-saving treatment. We demand that no other families face this cruel separation, especially when children’s lives are at stake.
Please join us in urging the government to correct this injustice and bring this family home before it's too late. Sign and share the petition now!
