The Issue

Our school administration made the sudden decision to relocate our high school graduation ceremony without seeking significant input from the very people it impacts the most – the parents of seniors. We’ve always been included in important school decisions through calls, texts, and emails, but not this time. The decision to move this important event away from our school was made quickly and without transparency, leaving many of us wondering why we were excluded from the process.

This change means that our students, who have spent significant years of their lives creating memories and building bonds at our high school, will now be deprived of the chance to celebrate the culmination of their high school journey on their own turf. It’s not just about convenience; it’s about giving our children the rightful experience of walking across the stage in the stadium where they have created countless memories.

Furthermore, shifting the ceremony to another state channels funds away from our community, diverting resources that could be better used to support our students right here at home. This decision feels rushed and as though it lacks a solid foundation. Why change what isn’t broken?

Join us in urging the school board to reconsider this decision. Let’s bring the graduation ceremony back to where it belongs – in our high school stadium, where our children can celebrate their achievements in the school they’ve called home for years. This is about preserving traditions and making sure our students get to enjoy the moment they’ve worked so hard for.

Please add your signature to this petition to have our voices heard and bring graduation back to our high school stadium. Together, we can make a difference for our children and our community.
