Culver City currently requires inflatable rental companies to carry $3 million in liability insurance in order to set up jumpers and inflatables at Culver City parks.

This unusually high requirement greatly limits the number of local rental companies that can serve our parks. The result is less competition, fewer choices, and significantly higher prices for Culver City families.

For example, a standard jumper that may cost approximately $150 from a local rental company can cost more than $500 through a company able to meet the City's current insurance requirement.

We absolutely support insurance and safety requirements that protect the City, residents, and children using inflatable equipment. However, we believe those requirements should be reasonable and allow qualified, properly insured businesses the opportunity to serve our community and compete fairly.

We are asking Culver City to:

Review the current $3 million liability insurance requirement for inflatable rental companies.

Establish reasonable insurance and safety requirements that qualified rental companies can realistically meet.

Allow properly insured inflatable rental businesses to compete fairly for rentals at Culver City parks.

Give Culver City families more choices and more affordable options when planning birthdays, celebrations, and community events.

This petition is not about benefiting one particular business. It is about creating a fair system for local businesses while giving Culver City residents the freedom to choose from multiple safe, insured, and affordable inflatable rental companies.
