Bring Brayan Ortega Guarin Home: End an Unjust ICE Detention in Georgia

The Issue

My husband, Brayan Ortega Guarin, is currently being detained at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia, despite having no criminal record, a pending asylum case, and a valid work permit. He is lawfully married to me, a United States citizen, and we were actively preparing to file a family-based immigration petition (Form I-130) so he could continue his life here legally and transparently.

Brayan has complied with every immigration requirement. He attended all appointments, followed all rules, has no criminal background and worked legally. Yet he is now detained.

This detention serves no public safety purpose. It represents a failure of due process and a system that punishes victims instead of protecting them.

Since being detained, Brayan has reported that Stewart Detention Center is overcrowded, and that he has been required to sleep on a pad on the floor due to a lack of available beds. These conditions are deeply concerning, particularly for someone with no criminal history and strong family ties.

Brayan is a loving husband, a compassionate person, and someone who embodies the values of family, responsibility, and community. I have never felt unsafe with him—only supported and loved. Our family has been torn apart without justification.

We are asking for:

 • The immediate release of Brayan Ortega Guarin

 • A full review of his detention by ICE

 • Consideration for bond or humanitarian parole

 • An end to the detention of victims based on dismissed cases

Families belong together. Victims should not be punished for surviving. This unjust detention must be reversed.

Please sign and share to help bring Brayan home.
