Bring big spring staff member back who did everything right
Bring big spring staff member back who did everything right
The Issue
Hi! I recently heard about a well loved member of the big spring high school staff was wrongfully accused of “bullying” a student by simply asking them to clean up a mess that the student had made. Very kindly had asked as well. Instead of the student being sat down and talked to about why they believed they were being bullied by this simple request to an able bodied student who had made the mess, they asked the staff member to apologize to the student for “bullying”.
This particular staff member was the most kind hearted and sweet, loving, funny individual and helped not only me but other students in big spring with so many problems and challenges that they faced when she did not have to.
Having said this, she did not believe that she should have apologized for said action due to it not being classified as bullying on dictionary terms or even common sense terms. She had walked out because knowing that apologizing just to make her boss happy and so her boss wouldn’t have to go through the extra effort of involving their boss, it was against her morals as a person.
She had nothing to apologize for. She simply asked kindly for a ABLE BODIED student to please pick up the mess that they created.
I am just bringing light to this situation as I work through what I can do to get her back into the school with no apology required to the student who did not deserve it and to a wonderful worker and woman who does NOT deserve what happened to her.
