Bring Back YMCA, OrangeTheory, Exercise Coach, Club Pilates to Renew Active for 2025!

Bring Back YMCA, OrangeTheory, Exercise Coach, Club Pilates to Renew Active for 2025!
The Issue
As members of AARP and UnitedHealthcare (UHC), we rely on the Renew Active program to access fitness facilities that support our health, wellness, and social connections. However, for 2025, YMCAs and other Premium Locations (OrangeTheory Fitness, The Exercise coach, Club Pilates, Pure Barre, Yoga Six, CycleBar, StretchLab, and Rumble) that were previously part of the program in 2024 have been excluded, leaving many members without accessible or affordable fitness options.
We are calling on AARP and UHC to reinstate these facilities in the Renew Active network for 2025. These facilities are essential for maintaining healthy lifestyles and fulfilling the promise of equitable access for all members.
Why This Matters:
• YMCA, OrangeTheory Fitness, The Exercise Coach, Club Pilates, Pure Barre, Yoga Six, CycleBar, StretchLab, Lifetime Fitness, and Rumble, and Premium Locations’ Value: Facilities like YMCAs offer senior-specific programs, from strength and balance training to fitness classes designed to prevent falls and maintain independence. Other Premium Locations also provide unique resources tailored to the needs of older adults.
• Health & Social Impact: Physical activity is crucial for aging well, and these facilities foster a sense of community, helping combat loneliness and isolation.
• Equitable Access: Many members live in areas where alternative options are either unavailable or unaffordable, making reinstating these facilities critical.
Without access to these trusted providers, many older adults may face declining physical and mental health, going against AARP and UHC’s mission to support members’ well-being.
What We’re Asking:
We respectfully urge AARP and UHC to:
1. Reinstate YMCA and other Premium Locations OrangeTheory Fitness, The Exercise Coach, Club Pilates, Pure Barre, Yoga Six, CycleBar, StretchLab, and Rumble in the Renew Active program for 2025.
2. Ensure equitable access to diverse, high-quality fitness resources for all members.
3. Provide clear, transparent communication about network changes and how affected members will be supported.
This most resembles false advertising, as we could have known much earlier in open enrollment. And that is way too much stress on Agents and we Insured who researched with the information we had, but were falsely led to believe our gyms would remain.

Let’s stand up for healthier communities and better access to essential resources for aging adults!
