For 20 years, the Women's Resource Center at the University of Maine provided a safe place for students and staff to receive essential resources and information regarding reproductive health, gender equity, and domestic and sexual violence response services. The WRC was also a community hub for activism and educational outreach. Before the fall of the 2015 school semester, the WRC was defunded, unbeknownst to the students, faculty, and even the employees that worked there. Student activists of UMaine are devoted to bringing the WRC back to our campus and keeping it there. 

We, the Student Women's Association, demand the University of Maine recognizes the needs of the female student body. We need your help in conveying to our administration the urgency of this matter. By signing, you are showing the University of Maine that not providing this space is irresponsible and a disservice to women and all students who benefit from having an administration that commits to gender equality.
