The River Festival has always been the responsibility of Stratford upon Avon BID however it’s now been abandoned by the current board , management and employed consultants. We are constantly told the businesses don’t want the River Festival by the current regime !! However this current term was elected in by a majority all wanting a River Festival. Recent reports produced clearly indicate that the businesses believed the River Festival was one of the best things the BID had delivered. Even Stratford District Council on  their recent BID consultation response highlighted the River Festival as the BIDS greatest achievement. 
Quite clearly someone within the current regime doesn’t want this !! Maybe financially they are now unable to deliver or don’t have the necessary  skills  to deliver Festivals ??? 
This was a great community event and most businesses that participated in that side of the River did incredibly well.
Hopefully someone will resurrect it and maybe ask the BID for a grant to support it !!
