I, along with many of my peers, feel uncomfortable using the school bathrooms due to the absence of doors. This fundamental aspect of privacy should not be compromised in any institution, especially in a space where young people are developing. No student should be forced to trade their personal comfort and a basic human right for attending school. In a survey by the National Education Association, 85% of students expressed the need for enhanced privacy in school environments (NEA, 2019). Continuously removing and reinstalling bathroom doors disrupts this sense of privacy and security and brings unnecessary stress to students. We believe this situation can be resolved by reinstalling and maintaining the doors on our school bathrooms. Don't let our essential rights be ignored.
