Bring back the myUSD portal
The Issue
The myUSD portal was an invaluable tool for the students and faculty of the University of South Dakota (USD). It offered a convenient and centralized location to access all university resources, streamlining processes and saving us valuable time. Now that it has been replaced by the Coyote One Stop, we are faced with a more cumbersome and time-consuming system.
The introduction of Coyote One Stop has brought more hassle than ease. Instead of providing a seamless user experience, it requires students and staff to navigate multiple steps just to access essential resources. This change has impacted the efficiency of our academic and administrative tasks and has negated the convenience we had grown accustomed to.
The myUSD portal was much more than just a website; it was a comprehensive resource center that facilitated easier communication, resource management, and academic planning. Its intuitive design meant that even the most technologically challenged among us could easily find what we needed without getting bogged down in unnecessary steps or having to visit multiple platforms.
In addition to saving time, the return of the myUSD portal would restore a sense of familiarity and efficiency, thereby enhancing the overall academic experience. Students and faculty members alike spoke highly of the system, emphasizing how it helped them manage their schedules, assignments, and communications all in one place.
We understand that technologies evolve and improvements are necessary; however, replacing a well-working system with one that complicates processes does not align with these goals. Instead, let's find a way to evolve the myUSD portal to meet the technological needs of today while retaining its user-friendly design and accessibility.
