Bring Back THE GREAT FIRE OF DRONFIELD to its Beloved Home!

The Issue

As a resident of Dronfield Woodhouse, Dronfield, UK, I am deeply saddened that the new local council have not granted permission for us at DWSSC carr lane and are rumoured to be taking it to coal Aston as to the benefit of two particular members..so are taking away THE GREAT FIRE OF DRONFIELD from our community. The newly formed council have refused to cooperate, help and are being ignorant towards what this means to our community. Also we have stressed to them the repercussions of us not staging the event, resulting in us closing the club doors for its final time. For 49 years this spectacular event has been an integral part of our town's history and has brought immense joy and cherished memories to families all over Derbyshire and Yorkshire. With the big 50 year anniversary also in process of organisation which will be an event like no other.

THE GREAT FIRE OF DRONFIELD holds a special place in the hearts of many generations. It is not just an ordinary firework display; it is a well-organized family event that has united our community year after year. The excitement and anticipation leading up to the event have always been palpable, creating a sense of unity among neighbors and friends.

One cannot overlook the tremendous effort put forth by the organizers who have taken immense pride in curating this extraordinary experience for us all. Their dedication has made THE GREAT FIRE OF DRONFIELD an unforgettable tradition that we eagerly look forward to each year.

Moreover, it is essential to acknowledge the significance of this event as a tribute to Tony Middleton, who sadly passed away but left an indelible mark on our community. The display itself pays homage to his memory annually, serving as a reminder of his contributions and impact on Dronfield.

However, we are now faced with the heartbreaking reality that THE GREAT FIRE OF DRONFIELD no longer graces its rightful home. This absence leaves us without not only an enjoyable pastime but also robs future generations of experiencing this beloved tradition firsthand.

We urge you, dear fellow residents and supporters alike, to join hands in bringing back THE GREAT FIRE OF DRONFIELD where it truly belongs – within our vibrant community! Let us come together once again under those magnificent fireworks illuminating our night sky with awe-inspiring beauty.

By signing this petition today, we demonstrate our unwavering commitment to preserving our town's rich heritage and ensuring that future generations can create their own cherished memories at THE GREAT FIRE OF DRONFIELD.

Let us unite in our shared love for this remarkable event and call upon the relevant authorities to take action. Together, we can revive THE GREAT FIRE OF DRONFIELD and restore its rightful place as a symbol of unity, joy, and pride within our community.
