Until January 2021 Welwyn North and Knebworth stations had two fast services to and from London per hour in the morning and evening peak periods. These services were withdrawn due to staff absences caused by Covid.

Since January 2021, the timetable on a Monday morning at 7AM is now identical to that of a Sunday afternoon.

Ticket prices have recently risen to record levels, and Thameslink and Great Northern are still charging "peak" prices for this distinctly off-peak service.

Revisions to the timetable are due in 2022 but it is currently not clear what changes will be included.

We call upon Thameslink and Great Northern to help Britain's economy bounce back after the pandemic by restoring the fast trains between Welwyn North, Knebworth and London.
