Bring back the construction crew at delta circle !
The Issue
Hi, my name is Liam Penn. I am a student at Delta Peach Bottom Elementary in Delta, PA. I am asking you to sign this petition on behalf of myself, classmates, and members of our community. Every day on, my way to and from school I pass through the Delta traffic circle, where until recently, there was a display of construction toys. Seeing the display always made me smile even though I’m not a morning person and school starts early. I like to see if I can spot any newly added toys with my little sister and tell her what the items are. The news even came to our little town and I knew that meant the joy was already spreading from our circle and now even more people would see it. Seeing my town on the news gave me a sense of pride in my community. My mom says when people have pride in their communities they treat them better. For example: They throw trash away, instead of on roads and sidewalks. When you are proud of your community you want it to look nice. Imagine my disappointment on my way to school when I saw that the circle had been cleared. Not a single tonka truck in sight. I was sad and asked my mom if she knew what happened, she said she did not know but would look into it for me. I told her it was not fair to take something away that made people happy. She said if I felt that strongly about it, that being sad wouldn’t fix it. I had to come with a plan to make a change. I said “Mom, I’m nine.” So she suggested I get with some friends and see if they were unhappy about it too. If enough people are, we could try a petition. So during free time I asked about it at school and it seems like we all agree we want the circle construction site back in Delta! Will you help us by signing our petition to present to PennDOT?!
