The Carlmont Instrumental Music trip has been canceled for the 2026-27 school year. The trip ordinarily takes place every other year, and this year, it was on schedule to commence.

For years, the biennial Carlmont IM trip has served as a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Carlmont musicians to visit famous cultural and musical destinations, listen to incredibly talented ensembles, and make lifelong memories with classmates. This trip is especially important to senior musicians at Carlmont, some of whom have not experienced it yet and will be graduating soon. 

Although logistics and past incidents led to this cancellation,  students want the chance to demonstrate their maturity and commitment. Many students commit to upholding high standards of responsibility moving forward and, if needed, are also willing to aid fundraising efforts and chaperoning needs to make the trip a possibility.
