Many Georgia Southern students rely on the campus bus system as their primary means of transportation to attend classes. Recently, the Cambridge bus stop was removed from the route, and the Stadium bus stop was relocated to a much less accessible location. This change has placed an undue burden on students, particularly those without personal transportation.

This relocation was a poor decision that has placed an undue burden on students, particularly those without personal transportation. These stops were not simply convenient; they were essential. They connected students living off campus and in specific housing areas to the rest of campus, allowing them to attend classes, labs, and campus activities without additional financial or time-related strain.

A petition was submitted last year regarding these same stops, demonstrating that the need for them is ongoing. The removal of the Cambridge stop and the relocation of the Stadium stop negatively affect student success, attendance, and safety.

We respectfully call upon Georgia Southern’s administration and transportation services to reinstate the Cambridge bus stop and return the Stadium stop to its original location. Doing so will ensure fair, reliable, and accessible transportation for all students.
