In May of 1996, McDonalds unveiled the Arch Deluxe. An “artisanal” hamburger for those with a more adult palate. The burger featured was a quarter pound of beef on a split-top potato flour sesame seed bun, topped with a circular piece of peppered bacon, leaf lettuce, tomato, American cheese, onions, ketchup, and Dijonnaise (a portmanteau of Dijon mustard and mayonnaise) sauce.

The sandwich did not sell well and is considered one of McDonald’s most expensive flops.

America was not ready for the Arch Deluxe in 1996, and a generation holds fond memories of the hamburger. This petition is to implore McDonalds to let us have the Arch Deluxe again…and for some, for the first time.
