It was first introduced in 1967 and became an instant classic. The polished aluminum exterior gave a sleek and sophisticated look to American's fleet,making it stand out from other airlines. The chrome design was not only beautiful but also practical as it reflected heat from sunlight, reducing fuel consumption.We understand that this is near impossible on composite jets so we ask you paint them a silver or pale grey to blend with the bare metal appearance.

The new livery may have some advantages such as being more fuel-efficient due to its lighter weight, but it fails to capture the essence of what made American Airlines great in the first place. It is bland, uninspiring and does not reflect its proud heritage.

We believe that bringing back the old bare metal (chrome) livery would be a smart move for American Airlines. It would not only please loyal customers who miss seeing this iconic design on planes but also attract new ones who appreciate classic aviation aesthetics.

According to a survey conducted by FlightGlobal in 2019, 70% of respondents preferred traditional liveries over modern ones. This shows that there is still a demand for classic designs like bare metal (chrome) among passengers.

Therefore, we urge you to reconsider your decision and bring back the old bare metal (chrome) livery as an option for your fleet. This will not only make us happy as customers but also help preserve an important part of aviation history.
