Bring Back the 31st Ave Open Street in 2023!

Bring Back the 31st Ave Open Street in 2023!
The Issue
As summer draws to a close, the 31st Ave Open Street Collective is gearing up for the Fall, including making preparations to return for the 2023 season. This past year, thousands of Astorians have joined us in making this new public space a reality, and now we're asking for your help to to show just how much our local community loves the Open Street.
Add your name here to let us know that you support the 31st Ave Open Street and would like to see it return next year! And if you really love the Open Street, leave a comment to say why - maybe your children enjoyed having a safe outdoor space for playdates and activities, or perhaps you picked up the perfect piece of wall art at our monthly vendor fair. Did the Open Street help you meet your neighbors, or reconnect with old friends? Or did you simply enjoy relaxing with coffee and a book at a cafe table near the beautiful new flower planters on a quiet Sunday afternoon? If you're comfortable, including your ZIP code also helps demonstrate that your support is local to the neighborhood.
Your comments will be shared with the NYC Department of Transportation and other city agencies, Queens Community Board 1, elected officials, local businesses, and other neighborhood groups when it comes time to renew the program for the upcoming season, in order to demonstrate the popularity of the program among local residents.
Thank you for your support! We know from seeing so many of you enjoying 31st Ave these last last few months that Astoria loves its Open Street, but now is the time to put pen to paper and document it for the powers that be. As the city continues to transition out of the pandemic and reevaluates its investment in public spaces, we want to make sure that our community doesn't lose this incredible resource that we have all worked so hard to create.
As Fall continues, there may be more opportunities to show your support for the Open Street - to stay informed, subscribe to our mailing list here!
