The practices start to go late into the evening, leaving the time between working, completing homework, and getting enough rest.

It isn't just student athletes who are affected. Many students rely on jobs to support themselves as well, whether that be to save for college or cover current costs. The late school release time makes it so students get fewer hours to work, and gives them less time to prepare for their shifts. In 2022, the school day started and ended earlier, allowing students a more balanced daily schedule.
