Bring back Souplantation
Bring back Souplantation
The Issue
Bring Back Souplantation. I’m deadah. I know this might sound dramatic to the closed minded, but I genuinely think the California we know and love lost a piece of itself when Souplantation closed. And no other restaurant has filled that gap. Every time someone says, “What’s a place you wish would come back?” the answer is almost always Souplantation. Years later, people are still talking about it (hot people). That’s not just nostalgia.. that’s proof it actually meant something. When i was a bebe jit, my dad and I would go to Souplantation after church. I can still picture grabbing a tray, making the world’s best salad creation (a true delicacy), loading up on them muffins, and somehow convincing myself I still had room for soft serve. Sigh. And honestly… why are we acting like California has collectively accepted this loss? I haven’t. I refuse. I refuse, I say. In a world where everything keeps getting more expensive and chain restaurants all feel the same, Souplantation was affordable, comforting, and somehow made eating soup feel like a party rock. Families loved it. Hot people loved it. Kids loved it. Grandparents loved it. It brought together people who all agreed that unlimited soup and soft serve was a perfect business model. So this is my very dramatic, but completely genuine plea: please bring Souplantation back <3
