BRING BACK MUCK UP DAY

BRING BACK MUCK UP DAY
The issue
For many of us Year 12 students, Muck Up Day is more than just another school event; it's a rite of passage, a cherished tradition that marks the end of an era. We've been looking forward to this day since the start of our high school journey, dreaming about the joy, the nostalgia, and the camaraderie it fosters among us. It's not just about creating fun; it's about celebrating our accomplishments, strong friendships, and the transition to the next chapter of our lives.
This year, instead of participating in Muck Up Day, our school has decided to take us to Gumbaya World. While Gumbaya World may be fun, it doesn't hold the same sentimental value and emotional importance for us. Muck Up Day allows us to be clapped out of school by teachers and peers with who we've shared years of our lives, and gives us a chance to honor school traditions such as the teacher dance. This personal and special moment is something Gumbaya World cannot offer.
Many schools throughout Australia continue to uphold Muck Up Day traditions, ensuring that students can celebrate their final year with unique, memory-making experiences. We want the same opportunity to enjoy this rite of passage. Reinstating Muck Up Day would not only honor the legacy of previous students but also strengthen community ties within the school.
We urge the school administration to reconsider its decision and bring back Muck Up Day for Year 12 students. Let us cherish our final moments as high school students in the authentic way that generations before us have experienced. Please sign our petition to support the reinstatement of Muck Up Day and allow us to create lasting memories with our peers."
