Telltale Games used to be a Game Studio that would make many loved videogames. Most of their games were about Choices and Consequences.. Were depending on your choices.. The story would change. Which is were they got the name "Telltale". Telltale would continuously collaborate with other studios to make different games from TV Shows/Other Games. In 2014.. Mojang had made a new section in their website that would show a Mojang employee saying that they are working with Telltale Games for a new Minecraft game. The section later got removed and is now archived in the Wayback Machine. In Minecon 2015 the first ever Minecraft Story Mode trailer was shown and it would quickly have mixed opinions. Many said that the game would fail and Many others said the exact opposite. In 2015 the first ever episode of Minecraft Story Mode was released.. And it would quickly take recognition by many people making the game extremely popular. Now all of that sounds great behind the scenes of Telltale right? Nope.. Since they were continuously making games they wouldn't have much money to pay their own employees. Quickly the studio went from having 2,000+ employees to only 20.. Which would lead into Telltale's shutdown in 2018. A year later.. (in 2019) Mojang decided to make a post saying that Minecraft Story Mode would go delisted and for everybody to quickly download/purchase all their episodes before they are gone forever.. Although that wasn't really bad for some of the fans since Minecraft Story Mode also released on Netflix.. Making it more easy for newcomers to play it. Although as the game says.. "Nothing built can last forever" and so in December of 2022 Netflix's license of the game expired and had to remove Minecraft Story Mode from their catalog. And again that wasn't that bad since Telltale was bought by a different studio in 2019.. Meaning that Minecraft Story Mode is back right? No.. Mojang has been gatekeeping the license making it so the game cant be sold at stores. And here is were we need your help.. With each passing year.. More and more newcomers play the game and want it to come back to stores. In order for that to happen we will need to force Mojang into sharing the license to the new Telltale. Doing that won't only bring the game back in stores but also could let Telltale to work on a season 3. We want you to share this petition around to many people so we could finally get what we want.
