This new policy is a disgraceful overreach by the school district administration. Metal water bottles help keep water cold and tasting fresh, which is extremely important for a long day at school, especially with rising temperatures.  Plastic water bottles with ice won’t preserve cold water throughout the day as much as a metal bottle even without ice can.  And to top it off, in many schools, namely East Forsyth, the water from the fountains is akin to the foulest liquids one could imagine, tasting like warm toilet water.  We need this policy to be reversed or for better, routinely maintained cold water fountains to be implemented.
