My fondest memories of Cypress Bay High School involve the peaceful lunches I spent at the Catwalk. It was more than just a place to eat; it was a sanctuary amidst the bustling school day. The Catwalk provided a unique a place where students could unwind, regroup, and enjoy our meals in one of the most comfortable environments on campus. 

Recently, the decision was made to prohibit lunch on the Catwalk, a decision that has had a significant impact on the quality of our daily school experience. Without this outlet, students have one less option to enjoy their breaks in a place where they feel comfortable and relaxed. The Catwalk was not just a location; it was a part of our school culture that many of us cherished deeply, providing a sense of community and belonging.

Bringing back lunch at the Catwalk is a realistic goal that can easily be achieved. It simply requires the school's administration to rethink their position and reinstate the privileges that students once had. This decision was likely made with reasons in mind, but with open communication, these concerns can be addressed and working solutions can be found. For instance, implementing a rotating schedule could minimize overcrowding, and setting specific guidelines can ensure the area is respectfully maintained.

We understand that student safety and campus cleanliness are top priorities. By working together with students and staff, we can find a viable solution that upholds these values while also reinstating this beloved tradition.
