Bring Back In-Person Spanish Classes to Guntersville City Schools!

The Issue

Guntersville students deserve a real language education—not a screen.

Guntersville City Schools has recently transitioned its Spanish program from live instruction to virtual, teacherless modules. While technology can support learning, it should never replace certified teachers, especially in subjects like foreign language that require interaction, cultural context, and conversation.

We’re asking the Guntersville City School Board to bring back certified, in-person Spanish teachers and ensure students receive the high-quality education they deserve.

Why this matters:

Spanish is more than vocabulary—it’s communication.

Students need real-time feedback and connection, not pre-recorded videos.

Live instruction prepares kids for college, careers, and real-world cultural understanding.

Other school systems continue to invest in foreign language teachers. Guntersville students should not be left behind.

Sign this petition to demand action and advocate for better education in our community. Our kids are worth it.

Together, we can give them the world—one language at a time.
