The Issue

For years, Rickley Park in West Bletchley has been the heart of grassroots football for many in Milton Keynes. The lush fields and community spirit cultivated on these grounds have fostered generations of passionate footballers. It’s not just a field; it's a cherished piece of our local history and an essential part of our community identity.

However, in recent times, we've seen a disappointing trend—the decreasing number of grass pitches available in Milton Keynes. Finding suitable pitches has become increasingly challenging, with most teams now having to rely on school grounds. This shift undermines the vibrant football culture we’ve painstakingly built over the years.

Rickley Park, with its historic roots and memories shared by more than half of Milton Keynes locals, has been sidelined. This beloved field offers more than just a space to play; it’s a life force bringing together young and old, fostering not only athletic skill but a sense of belonging and community.

We urge Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council to take immediate action to restore grassroots football to Rickley Park. Such an initiative would require revitalising the pitches and ensuring accessibility for all community teams. By investing in Rickley Park's rightful legacy within grassroots football, we invest in the spirit, health, and unity of our community.

Please sign this petition to help bring back grassroots football to Rickley Park and safeguard its future for upcoming generations. Together, we can keep the spirit of football alive in West Bletchley.
