Bring Back Fritz Noel - GNSHS
The Issue
Support for Fritz Noel
For 20 years, Fritz was more than a security guard—he was a trusted presence at Great Neck South High School. His sudden removal, without a clear explanation and transparency, has left students and staff frustrated and concerned.
Bill Castoro, head of Great Neck Security, who works with Arrow Security, the district’s contracted firm, made the decision. Allegedly, hiring priorities shifted toward former law enforcement officers, raising concerns about fairness and transparency.
Why This Matters
- Trusted relationships are key to school safety—not just law enforcement experience. It is important that students feel not only protected but also comfortable and supported by our school.
- There are now fewer security guards after 7 p.m., leaving some students and staff feeling unsafe. Especially for those in the various activities such as Theatre, Robotics, athletics, etc.
- Decisions that impact the school community should be made with transparency and input.
What We Can Do
- Sign the petition to demand transparency in security decisions.
- Raise awareness among parents, students, and teachers.
- Write to the Board of Education and PTO to express our concerns.
Security decisions should be made with community input. Let’s push for fairness, transparency, and a school environment built on trust.
